Suburban Animal Hospital Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a form of non-invasive imaging. This technology uses sound waves to examine internal organs and their motility. Ultrasound allows us to look within an organ, to assess the internal anatomy, to measure blood flow, and allows us to direct a specialized device to obtain samples of an organ without having to perform invasive surgery. When we use ultrasound to measure the heart, the procedure is called echo cardiography.
Dr. Schrader is using a Siemens G 60s ultrasound. He is following an internal guidance system that accurately allows him to biopsy even very small tumors.
