Dr. Ashley Hood was born in California and raised in Houston, Texas. She completed her associate’s degree in biological sciences and bachelor’s degree in molecular biology with a minor in biochemistry at Northern Virginia Community College and Marymount University, respectively. After her undergraduate studies, she conducted research with Hawksbill Hope, an organization dedicated to the tagging and monitoring of endangered hawksbill sea turtles in Gales Point, Belize.
Dr. Hood went on to attend Oklahoma State University from which she graduated in 2015. While there she served as vice president of the school’s Omega Tau Sigma chapter, a professional veterinary fraternity. In addition to receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree, she was also awarded the Dr. Newton B. Tennille Scholarship for promoting fellowship and community…go Pokes and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration.
Dr. Hood brings her passion of fulfilling her lifelong dream of working in veterinary medicine to Suburban; she has particular interests in small animal soft tissue surgery and client communication/relations. In her free time, Dr. Hood enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter, dog, two cats, and three lizards.
