Dr. Boyd was born and raised in Randolph, NJ and had pets her whole life. Like many veterinarians, her passion for animals began at a young age and her love of science made becoming a veterinarian a no-brainer! She received her B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech, her M.S. in animal science from Purdue University, and her D.V.M. from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech). She is a true Hokie fan through and through! Dr. Boyd has been with Suburban Animal Hospital since June 2014. She enjoys the variety of all aspects of practicing veterinary medicine on our canine and feline friends but specifically enjoys behavior and nutrition as well as geriatric pet care. Dr. Boyd’s favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is being an integral part of the health and wellness of puppies and kittens as they grow into adulthood and seeing the animal-human bond that develops.
She resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, her daughter, and Pointer mix Misha and orange Tabby Milo. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, football, live music, enjoying our local DC attractions, and traveling.
