Dr. Kelly McGrath was born and raised in New York. She received a dual bachelor degree in Biology and Journalism from SUNY Cortland. After her undergraduate studies, she obtained her veterinary technician license where she realized her love for emergency medicine. 

Dr. McGrath went on to attend St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her studies at North Carolina State University. Dr. McGrath then went on to complete an intensive yearlong small animal rotating internship.   

Dr. McGrath has practiced in Philadelphia and Delaware before moving to Virginia a few years ago. Dr. McGrath joined the Suburban Animal Hospital team in October 2021. Her veterinary interests include behavior, internal medicine, emergency medicine and ultrasound. 

When not working Dr. McGrath is spending time with her young son and 2 crazy pit bulls.  She enjoys rooting for the NY Giants, cooking, wine tasting and refurbishing furniture.
