Dr. Kimberly Halbert was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she completed her undergraduate studies in Microbiology at Louisiana State University. Her love of science and passion for animals is what drew her to the field of veterinary medicine. In 2006, Dr. Halbert graduated first in her class at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to complete a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The University of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine.

In August of 2007, Dr. Halbert moved to the Washington, D.C. area to join the team at Suburban Animal Hospital. Her professional interests include internal medicine, with a focus on endocrine, autoimmune, and renal diseases, as well as preventive health care.

She currently resides in Vienna, Virginia where she lives with her husband, two sons, and their two cats, Fritz and Mia. In her free time, Dr. Halbert enjoys cooking, reading, cheering her sons on at soccer games and spending time outdoors (skiing in the winter and camping in the summer).
